LOS ANGELES — September 2026 — Pumpkin Patch is heading into the Halloween season with its widest distribution yet.
The Halloween adventure from Magic Engine co-founder Brian James Gage is now available on Fawesome, bringing the movie to a streaming platform with reach across approximately 75 million U.S. households. The release arrives as Magic Engine prepares for the October world premiere of Pumpkin Patch: Moonbreaker, the sequel to Pumpkin Patch and the studio’s sixth feature.
For Magic Engine, the timing represents more than the expansion of a single title. It is another commercial milestone for a production model the company has spent the past year proving in the marketplace.
Magic Engine has concentrated on producing and commercializing complete feature-length movies at a time when much of the generative entertainment industry remains focused on demonstrations, short-form experiments, and technology still under development. Its movies have successfully cleared professional distributor quality-control requirements, secured third-party distribution, reached streaming audiences, and expanded into Blu-ray and other consumer products.
“Generative entertainment is still entering a market that can be skeptical, and at times openly resistant, to how these movies are being made,” said Magic Engine CEO Debbi Berlin. “The answer for us has never been to argue about what the technology might eventually be capable of. It’s to demonstrate commercial viability. We’re completing features, passing distributor QC, securing distribution, reaching audiences, and building franchises. Pumpkin Patch reaching a platform available to 75 million U.S. households while its sequel is already preparing to premiere is exactly the kind of progression we set out to build.”
Originally released for Halloween 2025, Pumpkin Patch became one of Gage’s most successful generative features, with successful premieres on Apple TV & ROKU via Alchemy Streaming Network. Its Fawesome launch now introduces the movie to a substantially larger potential audience as Halloween viewing begins across the country.
At the same time, Magic Engine is completing Pumpkin Patch: Moonbreaker, an ambitious sequel that greatly expands the characters, mythology, and scale of the original. The movie is scheduled for its world premiere in October and will become the sixth feature completed by Gage and the growing Magic Engine slate.
“Inventing this structure has been rigorous since the beginning, and that’s fine,” said Brian James Gage, President and Chief Creative Officer of Magic Engine. “The standard I care about is pretty simple: Can we make the movie? Can we get it distributed? Will an audience watch it?" Six features later, those aren’t hypothetical questions anymore now its about scale. Pumpkin Patch is now available through a platform reaching 75 million American households, and instead of still talking about the first movie, we’re preparing to premiere the sequel.”
Magic Engine believes that repeatability is one of the most important distinctions between experimentation with generative technology and a sustainable production business.
The company’s model combines generative production with traditional writing, directing, editing, music, sound, and commercial delivery standards, allowing a small creative operation to produce feature-length entertainment without the cost structure and infrastructure traditionally associated with independent feature production.
That efficiency is being used to build a continuing slate rather than isolated projects.
Following Pumpkin Patch: Moonbreaker in October, Magic Engine plans to release Red Nose 3: Silent Nightfall in December, continuing an expanding collection of original properties designed to move across streaming, physical media, merchandise, and future installments.
“Commercial viability isn’t something you declare,” Berlin added. “It’s something the market demonstrates back to you. Every distribution agreement, every QC approval, every viewer, every sale, and every returning franchise gives us another measurable data point. We know there are headwinds. We also know the movies are getting made, getting delivered, and getting watched.”
With Pumpkin Patch now available to audiences through Fawesome ahead of Halloween and Moonbreaker approaching its world premiere, Magic Engine enters the final quarter of 2026 with six features completed and its next releases already in production.
For a studio built around a production model that barely existed a few years ago, that track record is becoming increasingly difficult to dismiss.
